Fujiten Snow Resort is a Close Ski Resort to Tokyo.

Every wanted to ski Mt Fuji?  You can at Fujiten Snow Resort.  Fujiten Snow Resort was established only in 1986 is located in Yamanashi Prefecture, just 90 minutes away by car and is at the northern base of Mr Fuji, in the foothills.

Fujiten Snow Resort is quite small covering about 65 hectares, compared to other Japanese resorts, but there is quite good varied terrain for skiers and snowboarders, from novice up to intermediate or a bit more.  There is an exclusive zone for kids to learn, wide and easy novice runs and even some more terrain for more advanced skiers, including moguls.  For snow boarders, there are limited rails, boxes and kickers.

For kids there is an area called Chibikko Ai Land, a slope just for kids.  Kids can learn to ski and snowboard here.  Sledding is also offered.  Entrance is Yen 800 (2024).  A ski school is also available here.

Rental equipment & wear is available.

Lessons are available. In fact, all levels are taught. You can also certify your skiing and snowboarding levels by the Ski Association of Japan.

Fujiten Snow Resort also offers a nursery and babysitting services so parents can enjoy a day out on the slopes. You’ll need to be there from 1200 to 1300hrs hours though as the they are not open then. Advanced reservations are encouraged.

Check out their website for current snow conditions here . To get some good snow forecast info, check this out. You can also see their live webcam here. Fujiten does have excellent snow making machines which are also employed a lot due to the relatively low amount of snow they receive.

Fujiten Snow Resort is typically open from mid December to the beginning of April. Again, check their website for details.

In the summer, Fujiten Snow Resort all offers skiing on plastic mats that simulate snow!
